Psychotherapy – sometimes called “talk therapy” – helps children and teens understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe, supportive space. At Sage Clinics, therapy sessions are designed to help young people make sense of what’s going on inside them, learn healthier ways to cope, and build confidence to handle life’s challenges.

Our child and adolescent therapists use evidence-based approaches tailored to each young person’s age, personality, and needs. The process is collaborative and goal-focused – and always built on trust, empathy, and respect.

    Our Therapies include:

Therapy might involve talking, drawing, or creative activities depending on the child’s age and comfort level. Parents are often involved too for younger children, so progress can continue at home and within the family environment.

    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
    • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

    Aisha's Journey

Aisha, a 13-year-old student, began therapy at Sage Clinics after her parents noticed she had become withdrawn, tearful, and anxious about attending school. She often complained of stomach aches before class and had started avoiding friends. In her first sessions, the therapist created a warm, safe space where Aisha could talk and express herself through drawing and conversation. Together, they explored her worries about school and friendship conflicts, helping her identify how negative thoughts were fueling her anxiety. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques, Aisha learned to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and practiced calming strategies like deep breathing and positive self-talk. Her parents joined some sessions to learn ways to support her at home and encourage small, manageable steps back to school activities. Over time, Aisha regained confidence, improved her attendance, and started reconnecting with her friends.
