Elizabeth Sara Roby

Trainee Clinical Psychologist

“I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered to work toward their personal and therapeutic goals.”

I am a Psychology graduate from the American University of Sharjah and currently pursuing an MSc in Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham, Dubai. I work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach, to support individuals in managing anxiety, mood, and stress-related challenges. I have experience working with individuals across diverse age groups and backgrounds in both clinical and educational settings, supporting a wide range of psychological and developmental needs such as anxiety disorders, low mood and depression, social communication difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural concerns, and adjustment difficulties related to life transitions.

I have worked as a Clinical Psychology Intern at Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital. I was actively involved in assisting psychological assessments and structured Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) sessions for clients with depression and anxiety. My experience also includes working with children with autism and other developmental disorders as a Psychology Intern at Al Ibtisama Special Needs School, where I gained hands-on experience in supporting individualized learning and therapeutic interventions.

In addition to my clinical training, I am actively engaged in psychological research focusing on anxiety among young adults. I have presented at international conferences, including the American Psychological Association (APA) and the British Psychological Society (BPS) annual conventions.

I am passionate about mental health advocacy, with research interests in anxiety, stress, and emotional well-being in young adults. I strive to integrate evidence-based practice and research in promoting psychological resilience and mental health awareness within the UAE and beyond.
