“My ethos is grounded in depth, dignity, and neuroscience. I work at the intersection of trauma, identity, and the search for meaning, weaving together evidence-based tools with existential therapy to create goal-oriented, lasting and meaningful change”
Yasmeen Ibrahim is a highly experienced Counselling Psychologist whose career spans over a decade across diverse international settings, from British Columbia, Canada, to Dubai, UAE. She holds a bachelors degree in Psychology and Counselling from Middlesex University London and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver. Currently, she is pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy (DCPsych) at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling in the UK—a joint program with Middlesex University—where her doctoral research explores narcissism, early attachment trauma, and the development of the fragile self.
Yasmeen specializes in the treatment of PTSD and Complex PTSD, with advanced training in trauma-focused therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based interventions, with particular emphasis on emotional regulation and distress tolerance, drawing on extensive training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Existential Therapy.
She has also completed postgraduate training in Reproductive and Perinatal Mental Health, equipping her to work with individuals and couples navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, postpartum difficulties, and identity transitions in parenthood. Her experience spans a range of clinical environments, including trauma centres, correctional facilities, schools, and non-profits.
As a former Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor, Yasmeen has provided care to a broad spectrum of clients, including First Responders, Military Personnel, survivors of childhood and developmental trauma, individuals facing workplace and existential concerns, and couples managing complex relational or grief dynamics. Her work is deeply rooted in relational, integrative, and humanistic approaches, while remaining firmly anchored in neuroscience-informed, trauma-focused care.
