The goal of the session is to identify risk factors, provide you with the tools to address them, and discuss next steps – including for any treatable conditions you might not have been aware of such as depression, stress-related disorders, or anxiety.
Mental health and emotional well-being are just as important as physical health, and by identifying early signs of depression, stress, or anxiety, the most serious versions of these conditions can usually be avoided, or treated before they get out of control. Early identification and treatment are especially helpful because later stages often trigger personal crises, which makes treatment more complex.
A Sage Wellbeing Scan typically involves completing a simple questionnaire followed by an exploratory conversation with an experienced therapist. The therapist will explore how you think, feel and act in various areas of your life and will identify key strengths as well as risk factors that can affect your emotional wellbeing. These will be discussed openly with you, and the therapist will also make recommendations about next steps as needed – such as lifestyle changes, books to read, apps to try, activities to carry out, or referrals to other specialists for therapy or further assessments to address identified risks.
