Dr Khayyam Uddin

Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

I cultivate a calm and supportive environment for my patients, emphasizing collaboration, kindness, empathy, and validation. My practice prioritizes safe, evidence-based methods and promptly recognizes the psychological needs of both patients and their families.

As a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist with 13 years of experience within the NHS (National Health Service) in the UK, I bring a steadfast belief in collaboration and positive energy to my practice. My proficiency in understanding the ethno-culturally diverse population of the UAE, coupled with my multilingual skills, allows me to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each patient. Throughout my career, I have adhered to an evidence-based practice grounded in the biopsychosocial treatment model.

Prior to joining Sage Clinic, I served as a Consultant Psychiatrist for the Crises and Resolution Home Treatment Team at Solent NHS Trust starting from December 2022. Under my leadership, our team was honored with the Excellence HEART Award in 2022, a testament to our commitment to exemplary care. My peers recognized my contributions by nominating me for a clinical excellence award, citing my collaborative, non-judgmental approach and active listening skills.

Holdings the designation of an Approved Clinician (AC) and being approved by the Secretary of State under section 12 (2) of the UK Mental Health Act of 1983, I have gained extensive experience across various services in the UK, including community mental health teams, as well as general and forensic inpatient psychiatric services.

At the core of my practice lies a patient-centric approach, where I prioritize understanding and empathizing with the emotions and feelings of each individual. I adopt a psychologically minded perspective, examining patients’ lives holistically and remain sensitive to the challenges posed by different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
